An expanded range and a new website

The Treviso-based specialist in thermoplastic compounds, including its “eco” and “tecno”, has taken another step towards meeting the needs of its customers through a very well structured website and diversification of its distribution

A common objective, shared by numerous people, is the lifeblood running through Mepol, a group now comprising four companies: Mepol, the parent company, ITI Poland, its Polish “sister” company, ITI Polymers, which looks after sales and distribution, and Polar, which specialises in the selection and resale of recycled polymers. «Being a group is even more important than being a team», explains Mirco Melato, president of the company headquartered in Riese Pio X (near Treviso). «The group is formed by carrying out a common activity: each of the companies has a specific role that is the focus of its own know-how, but also a shared overview, and it is this that allows us to provide customers with an all-round service and to be present where they most need us».

The parent company

Founded in 1996, Mepol is an innovative and flexible company that produces high-tech thermoplastic compounds and environmentally sustainable compounds; it has a large production capacity and decades of know-how. It is able to meet every need, offering an efficient after-sales service and valid technical support for the creation, if necessary, of “tailor-made” products; in addition, it has an R&D lab that is equipped with last generation tools for conducting all the tests and analyses necessary to characterise the material, design and develop new products, and respond rapidly and comprehensively to customers’ requests.

A new website
To better present the Group and all that it offers, Mepol has launched its new website (www.mepol.com), where visitors can find out about all the services offered by the subsidiaries, and consult, independently, the product data sheets and all the documentation concerning their quality and regulatory compliance. The distribution company, following Mepol’s way, has created a brand new web site to manage the documentation related to distribution materials in order to inform and help the customer to monitor technical and legal compliance certifications (www.itipolymers.com). If you would like to know more about the group and its services, Mepol Group will be pleased to see you at Plast in Milan (Hall 9, Aisle C, Stand 81) , at PLAST POL in Kielce (Hall D, Stand 16) and at Fakuma in Friedrichshafen (Hall A5, Stand 5115).

Distribution

ITI Polymers, located in Ferrara, looks after the distribution of the major brands of “1st Choice materials” and “off-grades”, such as MOL, Chevron Phillips and Synthos. Last year, thanks to an important distribution agreement, it became the exclusive distributor of the entire Ruichem titanium dioxide range. This latter partnership has strengthened the group’s ability to provide the customer with an all-round service: from the raw material, to the custom compound, and finally the additive.

Overseas

ITI Poland replicates the Mepol model for Northern Europe, producing compounds. It is equipped with a plant for washing, grinding, extrusion, and for the recycling and grinding of polymers. The company, which already has ISO 9001 and 14001 certification, was recently recognised as compliant with the Ikea’s prestigious IWAY standard and with GO/NO-GO for its compliance with Ikea quality and laboratory standards.

Investing in sustainability

The fourth member of the group is Polar, based in Ferrara, which has developed its business in the processing and sale of plastic materials derived from industrial and post-consumer waste. Polar has obtained, for all its products, CSI Recycled Plastic certification which allows secondary raw materials, deriving from waste/plastic waste recycling, to be classified in compliance with Art. 184ter of Italian Legislative Decree 152/06 and UNI 10667 for plastics, a standard referred to in Italian Ministerial Decree 5/2/98. This compliance is expressly required under environmental laws and by the authorities responsible for environmental control.
